Over 600 people gathered at Tradition Square in Port St. Lucie on Feb. 24 for Elevate the Children of Haiti, a free concert to directly benefit orphaned children in Haiti.
The concert and fundraising campaign, which featured multiple praise bands and Christian performers, including recording artist Heather Williams, raised over $14,000. Funds generated from the benefit will be used to expand an orphanage in Haiti overseen by Global Vision Citadelle Ministries (GVCM).
It was a night filled with entertainment from a variety of talented musicians on the Treasure Coast, and concert supporters were not disappointed.
The concert’s grand finale included a group performance that incorporated all of the evening’s performers singing the world famous classic “We Are The World.”
“We are very happy with this year’s outcome and support,” said Ray Desmangles, a member of the Advisory Board for Global Vision Citadelle Ministries and one of the concert’s organizers. “We are planning for next year’s concert to be even bigger and better.”
