Grenadiers Get 3rd Defeat, Haiti Eliminated From Copa America Centenario Competition


Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey) as part of the Copa America Centenario the Grenadiers who faced Ecuador were easily defeated 4-0.

With 3 defeats ([7-1].html[1-0].html) Haiti ranks last in Group B and is eliminated from the competition.

In the first period, from the eleventh minute of play Ecuador took advantage by opening the scoring with a goal of Enner Valencia’s [1-0] which overtook the Haitian defense and easily misled the Haitian goalkeeper Johny Placide. 9 minutes later Ecuador scored a second goal [2-0].

At halftime, the score was [2-0] in favor of Ecuador.

After the break Chistian Noboa (57′) scored the 3rd goal for Ecuador face an overwhelmed Haitian defense and again sinks Grenadiers (78′) scoring the 4th and last goal of the match [4-0].

For its first participation in the Copa America, Haiti lost its three matches, the Grenadiers have each time kept the shock for a period, before physically losing ground after the break.
